Creamy Ranch Dressing – Low Carb Keto and Sugar Free

Jump to recipe

Enjoy Creamy Ranch from Fluffy Chix Cook, as a sugar free, real food, totally low carb keto and diabetic friendly alternative to the stuff served in a bottle, made in some secret valley. You will be hard-pressed to love a Ranch dressing more than this one.

Just a few minutes spent measuring the not-so-secret-herbs-and-spices in the Fluffy Chix Cook version of low carb Ranch Seasoning Mix yields a zesty spice blend perfect for use in the Creamy Ranch dressing or dip, or as a spice rub on meats. Keep it made up in your pantry and stir it together as needed.

creamy-ranch-dressingWe grew up eating Ranch Dressing from the time it first came onto the market. Mama was mad for this creation and at any time, we had 4-5 packages of the Ranch mix stored in the pantry in case of nuclear emergencies (or hurricanes). She’d whip up a recipe made in the original style—with buttermilk and mayonnaise. And we ate it on anything that would stand still long enough for an application! It quickly became the family favorite. Little did we know that the main ingredients were sugar aka maltodextrin and MSG. Go figure.

When we set out to recreate a Ranch Dressing copycat recipe, we knew there would be no added fluffy-making ingredients adulterating our low carb dressing. And we will assure you, none of Fluffy Chix Cook’s low carb salad dressings will ever, ever, never contain sugars (hidden or not-so-hidden). Please make Creamy Ranch, then come back and leave a comment letting us know how you liked it, ok? And be sure to check out our other dressing and salad recipes.

I made your Ranch mix this afternoon and then mixed it up into dressing. I hadn’t found your/this recipe for dressing ingredients yet so winged it. I’m thrilled because I chose the same ingredients as you list above and now, with your recipe, I know the proportions too!!!

Susie, this is THE BEST LC homemade Ranch dressing I have had to date and my search for the ‘right’ Ranch has been ongoing for me for a while. I’ve tried coming up with my own Ranch blends along the way too. Though many tasted good, they weren’t ‘right’. I guess ‘right’ is what Hidden Valley Ranch taught us that Ranch tastes like way back when we mixed it up from the “original” packets with mayo and buttermilk! (I don’t think their bottled Ranch tastes ‘right’!)

I can now quit searching for and trying to replicate the ‘right’ Ranch and just enjoy your recipes!

Thank you a million+ times over!

Hope you share this Ranch mix and dressing recipes over at FB. Everyone needs to know about it!!

    Hugs,
    Alice B.

Alice I’m so super glad you like the recipes! I quit buying Ranch mix or dressing years ago, cuz the bottles just don’t taste like it did in the old days! 🙁 It’s so sweet. Ick! I’m working on a replacement to the old Wishbone Italian Dressing mix too. I will go share the ranch recipe today. But I’m super stoked you tried it and loved it!!!

      xoxo

This recipe sounds yummy! It reminds me of the one my mom used to make. But she used milk (blah and no no now that I only eat low carb!)
You have listed, ‘1/4 cup of cream and 2 TBS of heavy whipping cream or water.’ What’s the difference between ‘cream’ and ‘heavy whipping cream?’ I hope this doesn’t sound like a dumb question….but I want to make this and I have everything on hand, including heavy whipping cream, just not sure about the cream part….

Becky, the 2tbsp water or heavy cream is to use at the end after you have mixed the entire recipe up. If it needs further thinning down, add water or cream. If you want/need to keep carbs lower, you might choose to use water, if you don’t care, then add the extra cream until it’s a consistency you like. 😀 The sub for milk is usually 2 parts cream : 1 part water or 1:1 cream and water.

Girlfriend, read the recipe for Creamy Ranch Dressing, it takes you to my recipe for the Ranch Dressing Mix (seasoning). Make it yourself, control what is in it. It tastes just like the old-timey kind.

Can I use 1/2 and 1/2 or buttermilk as a substitute for the cream?

    1. fluffychixadmin Avatar
      fluffychixadmin

Yes but why would you? The cream is lower carb and you make your own “soured” milk or buttermilk with the acid + cream…

When you say 1/4 cup cream, are you referring to heavy whipping cream?

Yes mam. Heavy cream. Whipping cream. We treat them the same in our recipes. 😀

Help!? I finally rounded up the ingredients to make this, I did sub garlic powder for the granulated. But my dry seasoning mix doesn’t equal 7 Tbsp?? I even went back and added up the amounts of all the seasonings (thinking I’d messed up or lost my mind) but that doesn’t equal 7 Tbsp, either?? Anyone??
